Really? For some reason, your comments associated with that address tend to get flagged as spam by WordPress's Akismet spam-filtering plugin. I assumed that this was because of the yourmom.com e-mail address. This comment, however, made it through. I wonder what the deal is....

I have also had this problem, expect I'm not an arpa member, so I can't even do as much as you. Also, mail.freeshell.org didn't seem to be working -- I got "connection refused" or "connection timed out" whenever Thunderbird tries to connect. Everything seems to be normal now, although I have yet to see an explanation anywhere.

I heard about another site, http://www.onebillionrace.com

The owner has challenged this site plus anotherone,
to race one billion hits.
Anyhow, he’s doing this for fun not the money he will win from buddies etc. Is what his blog says.

It's even harder than that. It's not just one billion page views, the bet specifies one billion unique hits. If it weren't for the uniqueness requirement, he could just write a program to query his web server one billion times.

Apple's iTunes Music Store has repeat customers and customers that download multiple songs per transaction. As it stands, he'll need one sixth of the world's population to view his site to win his bet. Are there even that many people worldwide with Internet access?
